Drawing for Animation (Ages 13-16)

Our Drawing for Animation program is a structured six-level fundamentals course, each level is four weeks long. All 6 levels are designed for teens who want to develop real artistic skills while exploring the exciting world of animation.
 

Rather than teaching isolated projects, our curriculum builds progressively from one level to the next. Students first learn the fundamental principles of movement before advancing into character design, perspective drawing, environment creation, composition, and animated storytelling.
 

Throughout the program, students develop skills in:
 

• The foundational principles of animation

• Character design and construction

• Gesture drawing and expressive poses

• Perspective drawing and background design

• Composition and visual storytelling

• Colour, lighting, and scene building

• Bringing original artwork to life through animation
   

Each four-week level combines guided instruction, hands-on projects, and personalized feedback. Students also revisit earlier work throughout the program, helping them strengthen both their technical skills and their creative portfolio.
 

Whether your teen dreams of working in animation, video games, comics, illustration, or simply wants to become a stronger artist, this program provides the artistic foundation needed to continue growing.

By the end of the program, students will have developed a solid understanding of both drawing and animation fundamentals while creating original work that demonstrates their growth as artists. The last class of each level is strictly for portfolio time. Students can work on any previous assignment to improve it for their final portfolio.

Cost Per Level: $225 
Classes are an hour long and often include sketchbook studies in-between sessions. (Students must provide their own sketchbook and pencils/erasers)
